Dead Ends and Cake

In June 2021, I joined my wife Lillie to participate in Dead Ends and Cake, a self-supported bikepacking event in eastern Switzerland.
The rules are simple: start in St-Gallen, pick your own route to visit 5 checkpoints all located on dead end roads and come back to the start. Why cake? Because the friendly staff at the checkpoint give you cake when you punch your brevet card.
We took three days and loved every minute. Well, almost because type 2 fun is an integral part of bikepacking. I've been riding in Switzerland for 37 years and had never been to many of the locations we visited. We made new friends on the road and the cakes were all delicious. Thanks Dominik and your team for the organisation and well done to all participants!
