Beaches, moors, mountains and wide, flat stretches: you don't have to be a top athlete to go on long discovery rides through Germany's northwest on an e-bike. A sprawling network of cycle paths allows you to get to know the unique features of different regions all in one day – a mini holiday, so to speak.
With an electric tailwind, you can enjoy a day's cycling holiday around Cloppenburg and even cycle all the way to the North Sea. With the e-bike, you’re fast enough to really go exploring even if you’ve never dared to cycle more than 30 kilometres (20 mi) before. And, at the same time, you're slow enough that you won't miss a single detail on your Tour.
The e-bike rides we’ve planned for you around our home region either start directly in Cloppenburg or can be easily reached by train from there. The journey by train never takes more than two hours. The routes are between 55 and 75 kilometres (34 - 47 mi) long and mostly lead over flat terrain. This makes the routes easy to master even if you’re normally a short-distance cyclist. For outstanding views, we’ve also included two more mountainous routes. No need for range-anxiety either: if you need to charge your e-bike on the way, you’ll find charging stations in the Tour descriptions.
On each of the rides there are restaurants and cafés where you can stop for a bite to eat. It's also worth packing binoculars if you’re keen on wildlife spotting. As the Tours are long, check out possible stops where you might want to rest beforehand. If you prefer to fall into a cosy local bed instead of the train in the evening, there are overnight accommodation options at the destinations too.
Each Tour takes you to a different natural landscape: in addition to the Teutoburg Forest in the south, you cycle through the marshlands of the north and the bird paradises around Lake Dümmer and the Zwischenahner Meer lake. An e-bike offers great opportunities to spend a relaxed day and still cover considerable distances. When you’re on the road with your bike, you’re free. These Tours are just a taste of your future cycling adventures.
Eat fish rolls, taste the salt in the air and cycle along the dike with a fresh breeze in your back. You can have all of this on this long but relaxed bike tour from Ocholt to the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea. You can reach Ocholt with your e-bike by train, for example from Cloppenburg via Oldenburg. Remember that bike spaces on trains sometimes have to be reserved.
On this e-bike tour you will make your way to one of the most beautiful bodies of water in Lower Saxony: the Zwischenahner Meer. It is not without good reason that the five and a half square kilometer lake bears the name “Pearl of the Ammerland”. Eleven kilometers of shoreline and four swimming areas invite you to take a break around the lake. But you can not only explore the Zwischenahner Meer on this bike tour.

The German low mountain range Teutoburg Forest extends from the district of Osnabrück to the north of North Rhine-Westphalia. Over a length of almost 105 kilometers, it offers cyclists many excursion and tour options. On this mountain tour you can not only get to know the special nature of the mountains, but also some of the most beautiful cities and communities.
The city of Osnabrück is bordered by the Osnabrück hill country in the north and then by the Wiehen Mountains. With the e-bike you can explore this green and, above all, geologically diverse landscape particularly well. The starting point of the almost 60-kilometer bike tour is of course the Lower Saxony city of Osnabrück, which you can reach by train. Along the Hase, the Haseuferweg takes you out of the city.
If you follow the Soeste out of Cloppenburg, it will lead you directly to the Thülsfelder Talsperre reservoir. But that's not all: The Hümmeling Nature Park is another wonderful destination right on your doorstep. With your e-bike you can reach the nature park after just 30 kilometers. On this tour you connect the park with the dam for a nice day trip. It starts at the sewage treatment plant on the edge of Cloppenburg.
