This is a Gritfest special courtesy of local Matt Page. You're doing well if you can get up the whole thing on gravel/CX gearing; pacing is key. The climb is pretty steady, but a bit loose in parts, straight up before a few zig zags nearing the top. Do make sure you stop to take in the view of the valleys, it'll blow your mind.

A huge network of forestry fire roads in Caeo Forest here that'll make your heart sing. Rocky, hilly and fast, you could enjoy these for hours on the side of the moorland!

A brilliant rocky track from the farm in the west up the double track through the forest, and then around the hillside toward Cilycwm. Enjoy the small water splash!

Capel Soar Y Mynydd is the most remote chapel in Wales. A peaceful spot, and I imagine it could provide respite if caught out here in a storm. The old building in front of it looks like it might be a good spot for a bad weather bivvy!

Stunning spot and worth the extra few hundred metres detour if the plan is otherwise to simply ride around the reservoir.
You'll find brilliant gravel and forestry roads on one side of the reservoir and slick, smooth black tarmac on the other, the choice is yours.
