Freiburg - Heidelberg (2018-20)

Starting from the Schwabentor in FR along the Kandelhöhenweg. The Kandelhof is OK as accommodation. The Gundelhof ("Fensterliwirt") is far more charming, but unfortunately it was too late for that 😢

The trail leads once around the Kandel and can be started from several points. Also leads past the Fensterli-Wirt and there you should at least plan a short rest with Mostschorle 😁.

Small detour to the Thomas hut is here. There is a magnificent view!

Second stage from Kandel to Schönwald. First along the Zweälersteig to the Hintereck-Hütte, then mainly on paths marked with a yellow or blue diamond to get to the Westweg at the end. Many waterfalls and white water are on the way and you get that Black Forest feeling.

Along the Westweg from Hausach to Griesbach

From Herbstwasen's went along the wild Rench back on the Westweg. About Schliffkopf, Ruhestein Mummelsee and Hornisgrinde to Unterstmatt.

For the time being, last stage of the FR-HD project. On the Westweg with a detour at the Mehliskopf on the Badener height and then a long descent to Forbach in the Murg Valley.



If a few days are free again, it will continue to migrate from there.

The hike from Freiburg to Heidelberg that began last year will be resumed. After an interruption in Forbach last year, the long ascension weekend is now another three stages - starting with the penultimate Westweg stage from Forbach to Dobel.

The path over the Kaltenbronn high moor is very beautiful - but also well attended.

Last Westweg stage with a small piece "E1" to Ispringen. The way to the 'golden gate' through Pforzheim was at first very nice (city park), but has moved towards Ispringen (then E1) a bit ugly through the city.

Endstation was the 'lamb' - highly recommended.

After it did not work last year and is just time for it, the long-distance Freiburg-Heidelberg project was continued today.
