Today we began - not pilgrim-like, but with much leisure and pleasure - to follow the funeral procession of Boniface. Nice first part under the slogan from the city out into the country.

The second stage of the Boniface Route took us through the Upper Rheingau and thus over long distances through vineyards, but also the villages Hochheim, Wicker, Bad Weilbach and Weilbach.

Our third stage of the last journey of the Boniface led us at minus degrees, but picture-book weather of Weilbach through the Weilbacher gravel pits and the orchards at Marxheim to Kriftel.

Very close to Frankfurt and yet through rural areas our fourth stage of the Boniface Route took us from Krfitel via Zeilsheim and Liederbach to Sulzbach.

Not as attractive as the stages before, but with the first flowering shrubs!

With today's stage we left the Frankfurt city area and reached the Wetterau district. Not only because of the great weather a beautiful section of the Bonifatiusweg.

If we had just reached the Wetterau district with the last stage, we have already left it today - at least for the time being - because with Büdesheim we are now in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis. Definitely finally left behind us but now the metropolitan area Rhein-Main. Only once were the peaks of the Europa…

After almost a year of interruption, we finally took the Boniface route under our feet again ... and what a wonderful stage it was! The weather was imperial, the route was beautiful, and an ice cream parlor had also opened in Windecken - a perfect Sunday hike ...

Again in the weather of Kaiser, we went on our ninth stage of the Bonifatiusweg from Eichen to Altenstadt. The almost 1,000 year old oak is a cute half-timbered village, which also extensively documents its history in the center and has recorded the growth of the village in the pavement. The real highlight…

Our longest so far was also the most entertaining stage on the Bonifatiusweg. As if in flight, the kilometers underneath the soles. Cute villages alternated with wonderful paths over the crests and through the orchards of the Wetterau. And even today there was still a view of the Taunus and even a look…

The first stage of the way, on the way back we didn't see Frankfurt's skyscrapers or the European Tower. And slowly the landscape begins to change again. Less open fields, more forest. And above all: much less asphalt paths, but natural soil ... feet, ligaments and joints gratefully acknowledged it.
It…

Very nice and entertaining stage with wonderful views of the Vogelsberg area, but also on wonderful paths through mixed and deciduous forest left to themselves.

And again it was a wonderful stage on the Bonifatius route. Of course, we were particularly impressed by the view back to the Frankfurt skyline, which is now more than 100 kilometers away. On the small piece between the giant boulder and the Flößerhaus, memories of our E3 hike came up once more, as both…

So today we continued on the Bonifatiusweg after the long winter break. From Ilbeshausen the path first led us from the Altfell over the plateau through meadows and fields to Nösberts-Weidmoos. From this tiny double village, the path then more or less follows the course of the Schwarza, which has dug…

With today's 15th stage, we have now finished our 200-kilometer hike from Mainz to Fulda. And with one exception, this stage was just beautiful. Dirt paths with wonderful panoramic views, beautiful forest passages in the last foothills of the Vogelsberg, chapels and chapels, an idyllic Bachauenweg as…
