Challenge yourself on foot – the Paznaun Challenge for hikers & trailrunners
© TVB Paznaun - Ischgl
With beautiful peaks, rustic huts, and dreamy mountain lakes, the Paznaun Valley in Austria is a wonderful area to explore on foot, be it hiking or trail running. As part of the Paznaun Challenge, you are now invited to explore this region.
Whether you are an ambitious trail runner, keen hiker, or active family, you can all take part in the Paznaun Challenge. Everyone can explore the great mountain world of our region at their own pace and also at the desired time. As part of the Paznaun Challenge, two routes of the Silvrettarun 3000 and all four routes of the Silvretta Ferwall March can be completed throughout the summer, not just on the day of the event. Everyone can participate in the way he or she prefers to do it. And you can do it every day - from June 18 to October 17, 2021 - with the Paznaun Challenge App.
You can choose from four routes through the Paznaun as part of the Silvretta Ferwall March
Challenge: Hike the Breitspitze peak on the Silvretta route, explore two lakes on the family variant, or take on one of the longer routes – the Marathon or the (slightly) shorter Ferwall route.
If you prefer running rather than hiking, then you can run one of the two Silvrettarun 3000 variants. Leading through stunning nature, both of the routes are wonderful to explore.
But how can you participate in the challenge given the current pandemic? Simply download the Paznaun Challenge App, choose a route, and get started! The app records your hike or run and when you finish one or more of the routes, you have the chance to win a nice prize. Challenge accepted? We are already looking forward to it!
Save-the-date: Trail runners with an appetite for competition can join like-minded people at the start on July 17, 2021. And those who prefer to hike together can hike the Silvretta Ferwall Marsch together on August 21, 2021.
The Silvretta route is one of the tours that definitely demand a bit of physical fitness, but also lead you to some real natural treasures. Among other things, you hike a promising summit and two beautiful lakes. But let's get started in the village square of Galtür. Via Wirl and the Zeinisjoch you get to the Zeinissee and shortly afterwards to the Kops reservoir, on the mighty dam wall an impressive view awaits you.
