How does 30% single track on 400 kilometres (250 mi) of paths sound to you? Baiersbronn in Germany’s northern Black Forest is a paradise for mountain bikers. While in the rest of Baden-Württemberg you can only ride on 2-metre (6.7 ft) wide trails, here we’ve had our own trail network approved and offer real single track fun, some of it even in the Black Forest National Park.

From Baiersbronn, the narrow Black Forest valleys stretch out like a star in all directions. Between them, the wooded ridges rise steeply, guaranteeing challenging climbs and magnificent descents. There’s an extensive network of trails that lead you through the vibrant forest and bring you to the region’s single tracks. There’s a difference in altitude of up to 350 metres (1,150 ft) between the valley and the mountain, which adds up to several metres of downhill fun.

This Collection contains a total of 11 circular Tours on these fantastic trails. From the family Tour around the Tonbach Valley at just under 13 kilometres (8 mi) to an 80-kilometre (50 m) ride, there’s something for everyone. Ambitious mountain bikers can prove themselves on the Steile-Hänge-Tour and, in addition to the flowing trails and challenging sections, there are wide gravel and forest paths where you can focus on the beautiful landscape of the Black Forest. The Murgtal Tour can easily be divided into two days, making it an ideal MTB weekend trip.

The difficult passages are usually easy to get around. The tightly-knit network of trails gives you complete freedom when planning your Tour as well: you can combine the paths and trails as you please. As the next valley is never far away, many routes can easily be shortened if you have less time.

It’s important to note that you share over half of the trails with other users, mostly hikers. For this reason, we’ve also created parallel paths in the busier locations so that you don't have to slow down too much.
