The ground fog gently sweeps over the hills and the forests slowly turn into a sea of color. At the latest when the days become shorter and the mornings crisp and cold, it is clear: Autumn is just around the corner. And with it begins one of the most beautiful seasons for hiking. Before the dark season, you can get a lot of fresh air, explore new, exciting places and keep fit and healthy at the same time.

We've come up with an incentive to make it even easier for you. With our #rausundlos Outdoor Initiative, we've got a little challenge: hike at least 20 kilometres (12 mi) in a month. Once you’ve got a taste for it, simply keep going! After all, a hike in nature is the perfect combination: fresh air, quiet paths without hustle and bustle, and on foot you’re at the right speed to get to know new places in a relaxed way.

To help you with the challenge, we've picked out the perfect hiking routes to get you started. All Tours in this Collection are 10 kilometres (6 mi) long. Just pick your two favourite hikes and you’ll tick off the challenge in no time!

So, do you accept our challenge? Simply download the TK app, start TK-Fit (the fitness programme in the TK app) and take part in the challenge. If you complete it, you can earn up to 1,000 points for the TK bonus programme. You can either redeem those points for future treatments that you normally have to pay for or treat yourself to our rewards.

Just one more thing: if you go on a Tour with komoot, follow us, tag us as a participant after your hike and write #rausundlos in the title – we’d love to see who takes part in the challenge here. If you prefer to share your adventures on Instagram or Facebook, you can tag us by using #rausundlos. We'll meet you in the great outdoors!

You have probably already seen a picture of the legendary Eltz Castle, if you haven't even been there yourself. But not only the castle and the view make this region a great destination. The hiking trails around the castle lead you into a picturesque forest landscape - always along the Elzbach.

A black bat marks the short but demanding Wittgensteiner Schieferpfad on the Eder. On it you hike through a dense forest area and along rough rock cliffs. Despite the shortness of the tour, the path is tough and you should only go it if you are sure-footed. If you are in the mood for a little adventure

In Hesse you can take a short trip back in time on this hike. In addition to the Römerforum Waldgrimes in the district of Lahnau of the same name, the Dünsberg is also on your way there. Celts lived there for over 800 years and built a large fortified settlement. You can still see parts of the facility
