We've come up with an incentive to make it even easier for you. With our #rausundlos Outdoor Initiative, we've got a little challenge: hike at least 20 kilometres (12 mi) in a month. Once you’ve got a taste for it, simply keep going! After all, a hike in nature is the perfect combination: fresh air, quiet paths without hustle and bustle, and on foot you’re at the right speed to get to know new places in a relaxed way.
To help you with the challenge, we've picked out the perfect hiking routes to get you started. All Tours in this Collection are 10 kilometres (6 mi) long. Just pick your two favourite hikes and you’ll tick off the challenge in no time!
So, do you accept our challenge? Simply download the TK app, start TK-Fit (the fitness programme in the TK app) and take part in the challenge. If you complete it, you can earn up to 1,000 points for the TK bonus programme. You can either redeem those points for future treatments that you normally have to pay for or treat yourself to our rewards.
Just one more thing: if you go on a Tour with komoot, follow us, tag us as a participant after your hike and write #rausundlos in the title – we’d love to see who takes part in the challenge here. On the banks of the Saale, between Bleiloch and Hohenwarte reservoirs, lies the town of Burgk with the impressive castle of the same name. Here the Saale, which is dammed at Burgkhammer in the immediate vicinity of the castle, meanders in several narrow loops through the Thuringian slate mountains. It is a wonderful hiking area and this round tour takes you from Burgk first over the northern loop of the river at Köppleberg with wonderful panoramic views.
On this round tour you will delve deep into German history, because you are hiking on a section of the Harzer Grenzweg and thus on the former inner-German border. The development of the former border strip through the “Green Belt” project is just as exciting and very future-oriented. It was initiated by BUND Nature Conservation shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall and merged the almost 1,400 km long strip of land into a biotope network.
