Criss-crossing through the home of salt, following the trail of the so-called white gold and listening to the Inn River lapping at its banks. Around the towns of Altötting and Mühldorf am Inn, we’ve put together several day Tours that take you and your bike through the charming landscapes of Upper Bavaria.
Ranging in length from 35 to 44 kilometres (21.7 to 27 miles), these bike Tours are perfect for a relaxing weekend trip directly on your doorstep. Good rail connections at the start and finish points also make it easy to travel to the routes if you live slightly further away. This means you can spend a day out in nature, with plenty of time to enjoy the region and its sights, in a completely sustainable way.
On the four day Tours we’ve planned for you here, you cycle along the rivers which were used to transport salt from the region to the orient in times gone by. Upper Bavaria has long been known for its saltworks that produced precious table salt. Along the route, ancient trading towns with their colourful centres still bear witness to this history.
On your rides, you also pass many exciting highlights, cycle through the charming nature of the Alpine foothills and visit magnificent churches and castles. You can see first hand how history has shaped the region and visit many special, historic buildings as well as geological sites and lots of places that will tempt you to take a relaxing break from everyday life, surrounded by nature.
