Regional art, natural lakes and impressive mossy landscapes surrounded by the dreamy mountains of Upper Bavaria – these bike Tours around the towns of Murnau and Weilheim and the Pfaffenwinkel region take you on inspiring adventures. You follow in the footsteps of Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), a special group of artists who worked in this region, including Franz Marc, Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Münter. On these rides, you can marvel at their art in the Münter House in Murnau, for example.

The beautiful combination of water and art is the perfect reason to explore the surrounding area. With our Collection, you discover charming areas in Upper Bavaria on the Wasser-Radlwege (Water-Bike Paths) on seven spring-like day Tours. Most of the routes start and end in one of the larger towns in Upper Bavaria, such as Weilheim or Murnau. This makes it easy to travel by train and skip the stressful car journey, as there are stations in the towns.

The Tours vary in distance from 30 to 90 kilometres (18.6 to 56 miles) and have an elevation gain of between 260 to 1,000 metres (853 to 3,280 feet). All the routes are very manageable with an average to good fitness level. If the Tour is too long for you to ride in one day, you can easily add an overnight stop along the way.

Around Murnau and Weilheim, you cycle on the trail of art. The Art Loop (an Upper Bavarian Wasser-Radlweg) runs here. Murnau is especially well-known for the Blaue Reiter. Indie rock fans, on the other hand, may associate Weilheim with the band ‘The Notwist’. Maybe you could download their latest album on your phone before your bike Tour.

Refreshments and snacks are well-catered for on all of the Tours. On your day Tours, you come across great beer gardens overlooking a lake, rustic inns, beautiful lakes like the Ammersee and Staffelsee, and rivers like the Lech and the Ammer. You can expect diverse cycling in one of the most beautiful areas in Bavaria – get ready for your cycling holiday in Upper Bavaria!

On this tour you cycle in the footsteps of Johann Baptist Baader (1717-1780), a painter of the Rococo and Classicism. This is how the funny name of the tour comes about, because the local population knew the artist as "Lechhansl". He designed monasteries between Lech and Loisach, his main client was

52 kilometers and 410 meters in altitude: This part of the König-Ludwig-Weg demands a lot from you, but is easy to master with average fitness. At first the route runs up and down in a very good-natured manner, only after about half of the route does it steepen a bit. You drive from Lake Starnberg to
