Excellent ride - it was a beautiful day and the views across the countryside were excellent. Unfortunately something went wrong with my gps-photo-sync so the photos are not in the right place. I tried to fix it but the track won't load into Lightroom properly, seems to be a disparity between the gps time and camera time. Quite a tough ride (for me) as it "undulates".
Enjoyable ride over good tracks with very little road work. It goes from a leisure park based on lakes left over from old gravel extraction to an ancient monument. I park in the side road just off the A6 and pick up the track just over the old bridge and head toward Stanwick lakes Leisure Park. Unfortunately Lyveden is a National Trust property so, unless you are a member there is a charge to look around the site.
This is a surprisingly tough ride (for me). It's the first serious off-road ride I tried on my Mountain Bike. It starts from the Horse Box car park in Salcey Forest, which is just off the route but its free parking. Only downside is the short section of the bridleway from the Forest to meet the route that goes over a field where the track is very rough. I would definitely recommend a full suspension bike for the whole of this route. We normally have a break for lunch at Castlethorpe where there is bench in the sun or a bus stop shelter in case of inclement weather. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from the ride but you do get good views over Milton Keynes and it is a very pleasant part of Northamptonshire anyway.
