In May, when the first strawberries ripen, it's a truly sweet time of year. And none are juicier and fresher than those you pick yourself. Strawberry picking is also a great way to spend some time with the family: Children love being in the outdoors; enjoying the beautiful spring weather while they seek out the best strawberries to pick straight off the stem. And it goes without saying that one or two will end up in their mouths before the basket, but we can forgive them for that. Your collected strawberries can then be processed into a whole host of delicacies: Strawberry cake, strawberry ice cream, strawberry smoothies or just enjoy them whole. And to make sure you get through the winter well, it's always a good idea to make your preserves—just enough to get you through the colder months.
We have put together seven hiking and cycling trips that will take you directly to the most beautiful strawberry fields around Berlin. Here you can pick and collect to your heart's content—as long as your baskets are big enough. To make the excursion into nature particularly relaxing, you can easily reach all trips by S-Bahn or regional train.
In times of Corona, our tour suggestions are mainly one thing: inspirations for hikes and bike tours in the near future, when the everyday restrictions are less strict. Please stay healthy, protect yourself and other people. Avoid any unnecessary travel — if the urgent desire for fresh air lures you out on our tours, please observe the distance and hygiene rules. By the way, FFP2 masks are mandatory in the Berlin S-Bahn!
