In Finnish, Kamu means friend or comrade. This is what Rob and Ralf had in mind when they started Kamu in 2016. They wanted to create a unique living room where cyclists and coffee lovers can meet. Kamu Bikes & Coffee is a unique combination between a modern bike shop and a coffee shop.
At Kamu, you can go for a nice cup of coffee, a good lunch or a beer as well as for a new gravel, road or mountain bike. There’s also an extensive collection of bicycle helmets, bike bags and other bicycle accessories. Kamu can help you with all your bike repairs and, if you are handy, you can use the professional workshop too.
Kamu organises various events, such as weekly social rides and Tours and they also offer workshops on bicycle maintenance, book presentations on routes made with komoot.
In this Collection, you find five beautiful and adventurous cycling routes in the vicinity of Breda in the south of the Netherlands. Expect smooth asphalt roads, crunchy gravel paths and bouncy cobbled streets. The routes are varied, from open polder landscapes and river country to dense forests and extensive heathland.
The rides are road bike-friendly, but a touring bike, gravel bike or e-bike will also allow you to easily explore the most beautiful places Breda has to offer by bike.
This Collection has been put together by Bjorn Kamman, the route builder at Kamu. Bjorn creates routes for various cycling events such as Tour de Fransje, Breda FietsFiesta and the famous Kamu Gravelrides. Many of his routes can be found on bjornrides.cc and on his komoot profile.
Bike Touring Highlight
Kamu is a Finnish companion. You feel at home with your friends and you share your passions with friends. With Kamu you share a love for coffee and cycling. See us as your new living room: you wake up with a refined espresso, for lunch you spoil yourself with a sourdough sandwich, you drink ginger beer while you assemble your long-dreamed bicycle with us.
In the meantime, we think it is important that you enjoy throughout the day. That is why we ensure that your coffee is made from high-quality coffee beans, that your freshly baked sandwich is surprisingly invested and that there are enough beautiful bicycles to swoon away.
And we also sell those bicycles, just like cycling clothing and bicycle accessories. We are happy to help you with the more complex bicycle repairs and building your own racing bike. In addition, we organize various workshops and we have our own Kamu gift voucher.

This route is the ideal evening tour in the Breda area. After dinner, jump on your bike and head west out of the city to the Liesbos. Beyond this ancient forest, the route bends to the south, on quiet and car-free roads. The well-known Mastbos soon comes into view. With trees more than five hundred years…

This route takes you to the quiet, but sometimes turbulent polders north of Breda. In this open country, the wind has free rein, so prepare for a tough ride. When you leave the city you end up on our favorite clinker strip. There is no better route to enter or leave the city. On the way you pass beautiful…

The Strade Bredachi is our variation on the legendary tour of the Tuscan white roads, the Strade Bianche. Since we love gravel at Kamu, this Italian classic is one of our favorite races that we (if possible) can also broadcast in our bar.
Good, that invitation is up. Back to the Strade Bredachi. You cycle…

Paris-Roubaix is one of our favorite one-day races on the cycling calendar. To honor the Hell of the North, we proudly present our own hellish cobbled course: the Hell of the South.
That is quite unique, because unlike many other parts of the Netherlands, there are many cobblestone sections in North Brabant…

In this stage we cram three weeks of Tour de France. This results in a colorful mix of everything that Breda and the surrounding area has to offer. From windy polders and tight asphalt roads to cobblestone strips, country estates and wooded areas. Do you miss an ascent from the hors category? No worries…
