So, I submitted something. Stage 2.1 of the virtual relay hike "a 2025 around the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz". There are still 3 stages free. Stage 2.2 from Markersdorf to Hartmannsdorf, stage 2.14 from Stollberg to Gelenau and stage 5.1 Hohenfichte to the Goldener Hahn. Now for my tour today. It was a wonderful stage in the best weather. I hiked the route in reverse from Markersdorf. What can I tell you, the pictures show everything. Chemnitz and Muldetal are among the most beautiful hiking routes in our region. I would particularly like to recommend the heights away from Rochsburg to America, which I have not yet gone and found it very beautiful, as an alternative to the river route. I hope I animated you with my tour and we will manage to hike the complete tours for the 2025 around Chemnitz by Sunday. I am counting on you.

Today I hiked the route from Ottendorf to Frankenberg. Ottendorf unfortunately doesn't have a parking space at the train station, so looking for something nearby wasn't that easy. Then walked to the train station and started the tour there. The trail wasn't that overly beautiful either.
There were no rest areas, only on the outskirts of Frankeberg. Through the city to the train station.
It took me about 4 hours for the route, taking pictures also stops 😄
The weather was fine, sometimes dark clouds.
Backwards it was also via beene, but a different route.

The route is not very spectacular, but there is a lot of "panorama" so when the weather is nice and visibility is good it is a lot of fun to enjoy the view. The Kaufland am Weg is a small alternative to visiting a cafe or a restaurant.

Relay hiking has now also come to Chemnitz, thanks to LOradler. The special topic here is to draw the number 2025 on the map. In terms of the idea, however, it is clear that this does not always result in the very best hikes.
I had chosen the section between Frankenberg and Flöha, as this is quite short and maybe a follow-up hike could be included.
It may not have been the most spectacular tour, but in the second half you had some nice views of Chemnitz and the Ore Mountains.

So ... Part 2 is done for today too.
2 or daily rain showers, heavy hail, sun and a lot of mud were my companions 👍😁😊

At lunchtime I checked the weather again and thought, something short is still possible today. Somehow the worm was in there today. I had drawn three zonks at once. First the chipmunks had me on the way to the start with their laser at the best lunchtime and then Petrus didn't really want to be nice to me. Well, the stage is not the one that you would immediately recommend to everyone. But Thomas wrote it correctly, the goal is 2025. So tie your shoes and go.
At Hartmannsdorfer Berg the storm had caught up with me with sleet and storm. The street was littered with flying dead wood. Then I thought at least the nature trail at the Nabu station lives up to its name. Puff cake pathetic and pitiful what the harvester does. The bright spot was the hell canyon in the Chemnitz valley. The new hiking car park with fitness parkour is also recommended.

Today we like to go on "our" stage, which began in the beautiful Chemnitz city park - at the so-called rose garden. First of all, the Chemnitz river in view, we reached the outskirts of the city via the Eisenweg and could already see the Klaffenbach moated castle from the hill, which was then a well-deserved lunch break from the backpack and is always worth a detour.
The path then led us through the golf course and the adjacent forest, where we were later able to marvel at the numerous early bloomers as we walked through the beautiful Adorf settlements.
Partly following the route of the City Bahn, we crossed Jahnsdorf and also passed Jahnsdorf Airport.
Here the sun finally came out and we were happy to wait with it on our faces for the city train, with which we could then return from the Pfaffenhain stop to Chemnitz.
A beautiful, varied section in our home.
    Great idea Andreas.

Today we started in Chemnitz Rottluff in light sunshine and fresh 6 ° C to hike towards Teichmühle Bräunsdorf. There was a very beautiful and worth seeing route ahead of us. The first excursion destination was the Rabenstein rock dome, followed by the viewing platform near Rabenstein Castle and the castle itself. We decided to adapt the route slightly and paid another visit to the viaduct. We continued through the castle park on the Baumgartenrundweg, which we then left and followed in the direction of Totenstein. On to the ski hut in Pleisa where we stopped for a rest. Next came the Limbach pond area and we followed the very muddy nature trail to Russdorf. Here, too, we adjusted the route a bit to look at the right and left at home and hiked cross-country past the wind turbines back on the regular route. And already we were in Bräunsdorf, past the fire brigade to Teichmühle.

Virtual relay hike, cultural capital Chemnitz 2025Thanks to Andreas and Thomas, who made the whole thing happen. Whether it was successful can be seen here: komoot.de/collection/1123361/-staffelwanderung-eine-2025-fuer-chemnitz-rund-um-und-in-chemnitz-vom-25-bis -28-march-2021My section was the upper arch of the second 2: from the Wüstenbrand train station to the rose garden in the Chemnitz city park. I made a circular hike out of it. So I didn't have to worry about going back and forth. So far, I've only had a few meters of the entire route under my feet. So there wasn't much that was new for me, so I concentrated on drinking coffee at home.Of course I hadn't changed the clock in the camera. So there was no photo in the right place ...

Isabell, Thomas and I did Tour 0.1 today. Start was on the market. The way led us over Schloßteich, Küchwald to the energy cycle path. In Garnsdorf we turned into today's highlight, the Höllenbachtal. From Ottendorf we took the Citybahn back to Chemnitz. As a reward, there was an ice cream at the Cortina.

With the City Bahn to Stollberg and then always follow your nose, Thalheim, Gornsdorf and Gelenau. The paths are muddy, but we already know that. Today I'm already a little knocked out because it always worked 🗻⬆️⬇️

In any case, it was a good decision to continue the tour that started yesterday in better weather. Definitely a nice hike with a lot of variety and some refreshment stops (if open). I especially liked the Sternmühlental
