The Berg Bier Tour (Mountain Beer Tour) showcases two of the Swabian Alb’s specialities – mountains and beer. This varied cycling adventure gives you a glimpse behind the scenes at breweries where you can taste homemade beers and regional dishes. But that’s not all, you will also immerse yourself in the Swabian Jura’s unique nature as you ride through romantic valleys, discover breathtaking caves, and explore impressive karst springs.

The Berg Bier Tour was created by the cities of Münsingen and Ehingen together with the Alb-Danube district and the Berg Brauerei. Over the course of 70 miles (112 km), it takes you from the city of Münsingen through the Lautertal valley to the Danube River and on to the towns of Ehingen and Blaubeuren. You then ride back to Münsingen through the Swabian Alb’s spectacular biosphere. The loop is ideal for a two day cycling holiday.

Your journey begins from the Mobility Centre in Münsingen where you can also hire e-bikes. The centre is located next to the train station making it easy to reach the start point with the Swabian Jura train. Alternatively, you can also join the route in Ehingen where there is also a train station.

Thanks to the Berg Bier Tour’s well-developed cycle paths, good public transport connections, wonderful places to visit, and multiple accommodation options, it has been awarded four stars by the German Cycling Federation (ADFC). On the way, you can visit unique highlights such as the Hohler Fels, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the turquoise Blautopf Lake, and untouched nature in abundance. Of course, you pass lots of breweries where you can stop to taste delicious beers and enjoy a guided tour too.
