Your calves are burning, sweat is pouring and your heart is racing. You can already see the shining, silver summit cross in front of you. Just a few more metres! Finally you stop, put your hands on your knees and relish in new feelings: pride and satisfaction. The breathtaking Alpine panorama surrounds you with the Glemmtal Valley below. And you've just run up here.

First-class trail running awaits you in Saalbach Hinterglemm. Thrilling speed trails, challenging marathon trails and energy-sapping endurance trails – here, as a passionate runner, you will find your dream route away from asphalt and gravel roads.

With this Collection, we take you on a fantastic selection of the most beautiful trails in Saalbach Hinterglemm. There are eight routes to take you high up into the summit world, each one challenging you in its own way. The Saalachtaler Höhenweg Light is perfect for beginners: a good 16 kilometres (10 mi) and almost 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) of altitude difference to master. Together with the alternative route of the Panorama Trail, it is tough but offers enough time to enjoy the beautiful landscape and to take a break. With almost 32 kilometres (20 mi) and 6,200 metres (20,300 ft) in altitude, the Glemmtaler Südseit Run is a different proposition. The Paschaweg trail leads you steeply up to the Spieleckkogel mountain, then over the ridge to the Asitz summit. A dream panorama is guaranteed.

Even well-trained trail runners will find the 14 Summit Trail and the Supertrail a real challenge. With a distance of up to 56 kilometres (35 mi) and with 3,000 metres (10,000 ft) of altitude gain, these routes are true monster trails. Will you take on the challenge? A particular highlight is the Joker Trailrun. "Up and down, again and again" is the motto on these 50 kilometres (31 mi), during which you take in the four main peaks around Saalbach Hinterglemm. The special thing about it is walking up and gently gliding down with the mountain railways. With the Jokercard you can even ride them for free!

Like running with others? On the 21 August 2021, you can complete one of the trails with like-minded people. At the 13 Summits Sky Marathon, you will climb 13 summits and circle the Glemmtal valley. Numerous refreshment stations will provide you with new energy to master this unique, panoramic loop. Get a flavour for it below:
