Yesterday you were surrounded by the colourful hustle and bustle of the city, but today you’re standing at the top of a mountain and marvelling at the silent world beneath your feet. Nestled in the Salzburg mountains in Austria, Saalbach is a place where you quickly arrive in hiking bliss, unlike any other. Lace-up your hiking boots and get going – that’s the motto here! There’s so much to discover. The region is not called the ‘Home of Laid-back’ for nothing.

The region has 400 kilometres (248 miles) of hiking trails to choose from. You can also stop off for a bite to eat, take a gondola ride up the mountain or stroll along the panoramic ridges. In this Collection, we want to give you a taste of what to expect. Of course, we hope that you will visit us soon and tick off one of the stone giants from your summit Collection.

We don’t do things by halves here in Saalbach so we’ve provided the crème de la crème of our hiking Tours for you. Provided that you have a certain amount of ambition and basic physical condition, the routes will take you to the top of our region’s peaks, to the shores of the most beautiful mountain lakes and to the tables of the rarest huts.

The Seven Summits of Saalbach, the Saalachtaler Höhenweg and the ‘Walk of Lässig’ – you will get to know all of these hikes (and a few more) during your stay in Salzburg Pinzgau. Challenging trails, crisp climbs and demanding summits are in store, as well as a whole lot of nature. You’ll experience the area from its most beautiful side. We look forward to meeting you!

P.S.: If you have already packed your rucksack, but have no idea how to get to us, be sure to take a look here: saalbach.com/en/service/arrival. Even though we are located in the middle of one of the most beautiful mountain worlds ever, we are pretty easy to reach.

A high path as it should be. This is the Saalachtaler Höhenweg. In a very promising way - journeymen like the Hohe Tauern, the Glockner and the Großvenediger always in view - it leads you from the Spielbergtörl to the Biberg in Saalfelden.

It starts at the mountain station of the Kohlmaisbahn (saalbach.com/de/service/infrastructure/h1-h2-kohlmaisbahn_a_1590

This tour is not a walk in the traditional sense. A few too many meters in altitude are involved and a certain level of fitness is required. But you can still look forward to it: you will get to know the Salzburg Pinzgau again from a particularly promising side.
