When people think of the Zillertal Valley, winter sports usually spring to mind. However, more and more bikers have been discovering the valley as a destination for their outdoor holiday over the years. The Fügen-Kaltenbach region, which begins just after you leave the Inn Valley in Austria, offers numerous beautiful biking routes. Here, you’ll discover well-developed routes for keen bikers and athletes who enjoy great panoramas, spectacular landscapes and excellent infrastructure. Singletrack takes second place here. Instead, our Tours take you to beautiful huts and cosy mountain restaurants serving typical Tyrolean delicacies and Zillertal specialities. If you’re travelling with children, there are lots of opportunities to stop for a break such as playgrounds, swimming lakes and outdoor pools.

In this Collection, we present 12 adventurous routes in Fügen-Kaltenbach between the Inn Valley and the town of Mayrhofen. You can ride all of the routes on a mountain or gravel bike. For e-bike riders, many huts are also equipped with charging stations. Along the way, there are fantastic views as you ride on quiet roads and alpine paths that are easy to navigate. On the traditional alpine pastures, you’ll find peace and seclusion in abundance. In the huts and alpine dairies, you can drink milk that is produced directly in the valley too.

The steepest Tours take you up to 2,400 metres (7,880 ft) – perfect for sporty cyclists. If you’re in the mood for a more leisurely bike Tour, the Zillertal Cycle Path that connects the towns along the valley is the perfect choice.

If you ever run out of steam, simply hop on the Zillertalbahn (Ziller Valley train) which also takes bikes. There are stops throughout the valley all the way to Jenbach in the Inn Valley. This also means you can easily travel to the region by public transport. There’s a train station in Jenbach which has long-distance rail connections. The Euro-City train takes around 1.5 hours from Munich.
