The Kitzbühel Alps Trail, or KAT for short, crosses the holiday regions of the Hohe Salve, Brixental, St. Johann in Tirol and PillerseeTal in the Kitzbühel Alps around the well-known winter sports region of Kitzbühel. The trail has two variants – a hiking and bike route. The KAT Bike leads you across this beautiful region which has retained its Tyrolean charm in three eventful stages. You can choose from both leisurely e-bike routes and sporty mountain bike routes with action-packed single trails.
In this Collection, we would like to introduce you to both the leisurely variant and the sporty alternative. Even though the KAT Bike E-njoy was designed as an e-bike Tour, there’s nothing stopping you from riding it on a normal mountain bike too. Ambitious, sporty bikers who want to try out some single trails will enjoy the KAT Bike Sport+ route.
From Mariastein or Hopfgarten municipalities, the KAT Bike route leads you through the Brixen Valley to the biking mecca of Kirchberg and on to St. Johann in Tirol and the idyllic Pillersee Valley. The route is clearly waymarked, so you can find your way around even without a guide or constantly looking at your GPS device. On secluded mountain roads, quiet meadow paths and flowing trails, you discover the Kitzbühel Alps and experience three unforgettable days of mountain biking. The easy route has 164 kilometers (102 miles) and about 3,700 meters (12,140 feet) of elevation gain. The sporty and ambitious route has 147 kilometers (91 miles) and almost 5,300 meters (17,400 feet) of elevation gain.
Your bike adventure will be even more fun if you leave the organisation to us. Just book our complete package and we’ll take care of your accommodation and luggage transport. You then only need to decide on your route, which you can flexibly adapt as you like day by day.
Tip: When you book the complete package, you receive a Kitzbüheler Alpen guest card which is valid as a train and S-Bahn ticket. With the guest card, all holidaymakers can use local transport in the four affiliated regions for free. It’s also valid on REX and suburban trains on the route from Wörgl to Hochfilzen.
