Almost uninhabited, but with wonderful wildlife, romantic lakes and sand between the toes, the Hohe Mark Nature Park is rich in variety and beauty. The green lung of Germany’s Westphalia region is surrounded by the Ruhr metropolis, Münsterland and the Lower Rhine region. It is criss-crossed by hundreds of kilometres of unique cycle paths.

With highlights such as an island castle in the middle of the water, dreamlike gardens, a 1,500-year-old oak tree and abundant culture, the cycle paths in the western Hohe Mark take you out of your everyday life in the city and into another world. To really switch off during an excursion into this world, we have selected the most beautiful cycling day Tours in the nature park.

On the day Tours in the western part of the Hohe Mark, the lively small-town flair is not neglected either. Towns and villages such as Bocholt, Borken and Raesfeld welcome visitors and treat you to charming town centres, good restaurants and cosy cafés.

The rides range in length from 17 to 70 kilometres (11-44 mi), allowing you to choose a relaxed, short Tour by bike or a longer discovery Tour. All five circular routes can be reached either via a nearby train station or other public transport. Parking spaces are also available at each starting point. Information on the bus and rail network can be found here: bus-und-bahn-im-muensterland.de.
