#CleanYourLocalForest in Franconia & win with Five Ten

Mountain Biking Collection by adidas Five Ten

Imagine you're riding on a flowy trail that leads along natural paths through a wonderfully dense forest. You suddenly see a plastic bottle that someone has obviously lost. So, you pick it up, of course. After all, the bottle has no business being on the trail and is an obstacle too.

What do you think about going one step further and setting even more of a good example? You could show other forest visitors that you care just as much about untouched nature as a mountain biker. Why not pack a rubbish bag in your rucksack for your Tour and collect a bit of rubbish along the route, at car parks or on the roadside. You don’t have to organise a big clean-up of course. It’s enough if everyone just takes a few minutes to help our forests to look a lot nicer!

And there’s more great news: for your good deed, you won’t only get positive karma. You have the chance to win one of four exclusive adidas Five Ten packages with great sustainable products for your mountain bike Tours. The package is available twice for women and twice for men. Each includes a pair of Five Ten Freerider Primeblue mountain bike shoes, a pair of Five Ten BOTB bike shorts and a Five Ten Bike TrailX T-shirt. There are also 500 Five Ten 25% discount codes up for grabs!

By the way, the entire outfit comes from adidas Five Ten's Primeblue product line. They are produced using high-performance recycled materials, some of which are made from Parley Ocean Plastic. This special project aims to rid beaches and coasts around the world of plastic waste by using it to produce new materials. This is an important step towards a plastic-free future for our oceans.

Joining the #CleanYourLocalForest initiative is easy:
1. follow adidas Five Ten on komoot and take us with you on your clean up, no matter if you walk or ride. You can either be inspired by the highlights in this Collection or ride your own favourite route.
2. show that you care about the environment and record your clean up Tour with komoot and add #CleanYourLocalForest to the title of the Tour.
3. tag adidas Five Ten as a participant in your Tour to share it with us and the community. Creative Tours with photos of your clean up have the chance to win one of 500 Five Ten 25% off codes! (You will be contacted by email)
4. repeat!

Nice little area with a few well-built jumps. Something is rebuilt every now and then.

    Langer Trail durch den Reichswald

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

You get the feeling that this trail doesn't stop at all. Still very wide at the eastern end, the path soon becomes a real single trail that winds around trees, rocks and along sunken paths. There is also one or the other mud hole and as a good mountain biker you naturally drive through it and don't make the trail even wider. Recommended and not very difficult.

    Schöner Single Trail zum Ballern

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

In this corner everything is full of trails of all levels of difficulty. Some for shooting, others should be run off first. But a lot of fun!

    Röthenbachklamm

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Wonderful long trail through a fairytale forest landscape. It felt like a marble run.

    Sandstein-Trail

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Very close to the sandstone pit. It's steeper than it looks, especially at the beginning there is a rooted step - ideal for fine-tuning your technique.

    Cäsartrail

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Cool trail! Departure direction: from north to south. At the beginning a few small jumps / gaps, then sometimes quite rough terrain with a few steps, etc., but in which you can have a lot of fun. There are a few variants for which it is worthwhile to repeatedly drive up the farm road a little to the east.

Just try it, many technical jokes, just past the water, waves and flowing passages.

    Flowtrail mit Funfaktor

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Somewhat hidden behind a bench, it goes into the trail and then just get started! Especially easy to drive in dry conditions and before you know it you are already on the wrong track in the Hirschbachtal. Pay attention to the mud holes if the ground is damp. Everything can be moved up to a maximum of S1. The one rock in the middle is easy to drive, but can also be bypassed on the left. I set this highlight, although there are already some highlights, but none of them show the trail in full length.

    Die Drei Zinnen

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The Three Peaks are actually in the Sexten Dolomites and are a bit bigger. The Franconian version is also nice to look at and definitely worth a stop.

    Das schöne Obere Püttlachtal

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Romantic valley from Pottenstein direction Pegnitz. No traffic, just a narrow path through the forest and next door splashing the Püttlach.

The trail landscape on the west side of the glider airfield is well suited for "gymnastics" with the MTB. Short ascents and descents can be practiced in various degrees of difficulty. The soil consists mainly of sand-lime brick, sometimes loose stones, sometimes mixed with the ground, sometimes bare rock. The hilly roller coaster is also worth a ride or two: Here you can practice using the momentum and switching with foresight. Helmet is compulsory and other protective equipment is recommended. Repair kits and pumps are also strongly recommended. When I do gymnastics here I have a flat tire every third time. Hawthorn bushes grow here; they have thorns as hard as nails!

    Trockental zur Heroldsmühle

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

A dry valley is a special feature of the karst area Franconian Switzerland. There is no stream. Only after heavy rainfall (mostly in winter / spring) does water billow out of two hulks (karst springs that stay dry the rest of the year) and the valley turns into a small river. On the valley slopes you can find the typical grasslands of Franconian Switzerland.

    Trail auf Fränkischem Gebirgsweg

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

This is by far the most beautiful single trail I know. A narrow path gently leads a few kilometers to the parking lot for hikers. You are surrounded by forest and a beautiful green landscape.

    Enger Weg am Abgrund

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

There are two cellars on the way to take a break. Very good and fluid cycling, partly over meadows, partly along the edge of the forest. The piece with the "Abyss" is only very short, however.

    Paradiestal

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Idyllic valley with numerous rock formations and a rock cellar, the former ice cellar of a Stadelhofen brewery. Almost no difference in altitude over the total length of approx. 5 km. There is no constantly flowing body of water through the Paradiestal, which has nothing to do with the hot summers of the present.

    Weinhügel Trail

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

This single trail is not just a visual highlight. Although it is mainly S0 to S1, in between it is even briefly technical, steep and thus to S1 to S2. For inexperienced or hardtail riders, it may even appear like an S3. At the highest point, the path becomes rocky, steep and lightly rooted. On dry ground, however, it can be ridden with good technology and / or E-MTB power without dismounting. No loose rubble or the like. Good grip and solidified ground. When wet, the rocks and roots are too slippery. Then pushing for 5 meters is the order of the day. Sometimes leaves can tear off the grip. Be careful when wet.

    Staffelberg

    Mountain Biking Highlight

Great view over large parts of the Bad Staffelsteiner and Lichtenfelser area. With a small hospitality hut and sufficient seating outside. Several great paths up and down and connection to the surrounding forests.

    Pfersag-Wasserfall

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The approximately two meter high waterfall at Ebneth is something special. The Pfersag waterfall is a horseshoe waterfall like the North American Niagara Falls, only in miniature. After longer periods of rain, the water flows over the entire rock step and during dry periods only a narrow jet flows over the middle. So recommendable at any time of the year.

    Fischbachtrail – ein absolutes Highlight

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Here you can only see half of the trail (continues on the other side). It's best to ride the trail in spring. There it is mostly clean (unless there is a wind break) and can see everything! A steep start at the beginning, followed by pure enjoyment! A "MUST" for every mountain biker! But be careful: the trail is very narrow ==> oncoming traffic !!

    Downhill vom Ochsenkopf

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

The downhill route on the Ochsenkopf offers countless ways and opportunities to get down. Very challenging. The downhill route is right by the chair lift. A helmet and a suitable MTB should be compulsory equipment here. MTB's and eMTB's can be rented at the Bullheadhaus.

    Fleckl-Moor im Fichtelgebirge

    Mountain Biking Highlight

Fancy a mud bath? Then off to Fleckl in the Fichtel Mountains! And there is also a beautiful, idyllic lake in the forest. 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️ The location is wonderfully secluded with oxygen-rich, fresh forest air and with it: a beautiful lawn for sunbathing or sitting. 🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♂️ 😌 And all without admission. 🙂 Well ... so far an insider tip - now possibly not anymore. 😎

    Epischer Singletrail

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

A very exciting trail that is peppered with many stones. When it's dry, this is definitely a lot of fun. But when it is wet (as it was in my case), then you should enjoy it with caution, because then it gets a bit slippery here and there. A helmet is the least amount of equipment you should wear here. I still recommend something more, such as knee / elbow pads.
