The walk to the Gernkogel and Sonntagskogel is a great tour for the whole family. The starting point of the walk is the car park of the gondola in Alpendorf, where you take the gondola up. From the mountain station of the Alpendorfbahn you follow the path to the Buchauhütte and the Gernkogel. You have a nice view of the artificial lake.

One of the highlights near St. Johann im Pongau is a walk to the Liechtensteinklamm. The gorge is imposing, spectacular and impressive and is a stone's throw from the village. You reach the gorge after a short walk from the parking lot in Alpendorf.You walk past the valley stations of the lifts in Alpendorf and the large playground for small hikers. From here, simply follow the forest path to the Liechtensteinklamm.
This not too long circular walk takes you to the Schuhflicker, a mountain of limestone. You also visit the Schuhflickersee, a standing mountain lake where no water flows in or out.You park your car in the parking lot of the Au-alm. The cabin looks cozy, but it is time for a nice walk first. Soon you will come back here automatically, and you can relax on the terrace.
