Go hiking in the beautiful Zillertal Valley. Located about 40 kilometres (25 miles) east of Innsbruck, the valley is one of the most varied destinations for walking in Austria. We’ve listed eight completely different hikes through this wonderful region for you in this Collection.

As the valley is nestled on the southern side of the Inntal Valley, there’s a lot of sunny days here. The Zillertal covers the regions of Fügen-Kaltenbach, Zell-Gerlos, Mayrhofen-Hippach, Tux-Finkenberg and includes a high mountain nature park. You hike through green valleys and climb up into the mountains where you are surrounded by several three-thousanders. You can stop for a refreshing drink at the many waterfalls and end your hike on the terrace of a cozy hut. Everything is possible in the Zillertal.

To make it easy for you, there are 10 mountain lifts in operation in the summer, which quickly take you to high altitudes and make hiking in the high mountains accessible to everyone. You can choose whether you prefer to walk all the way up from the valley or make it a little easier on yourself. This also makes hiking in the Zillertal ideal for families.

To experience the Zillertal to the fullest, make use of the Zillertal Activcard. With this card, you can take one of the selected mountain lifts up every day for free. You also have access to six outdoor swimming pools, can use public transport for free and receive various discounts from partners throughout the Zillertal.

The Zillertal Activcard is available from as little as €67 for three days (for adults, children at a reduced rate). You can read all about the Zillertal Activcard here: zillertal.at/en/summer/holiday/zillertal-activcard.html
