If the excitement and charm of alpine hut trekking combined with the classic delights of Mediterranean dolce vita sounds appealing, then the Trentino Dolomites are for you. In Dolomiti Paganella, you can explore incredible rocky peaks and picturesque lakes, before sampling superb local produce in the characterful malga — mountain huts serving food and drink — or while staying the night at a refuge.
Delicious cuisine and excellent wines have a long tradition here. The area is blessed by a range of landscapes and climates, which is why the huts offer such an array of dishes. After a day on the trails, taste your way through steaming spinach gnocchi, spicy polenta, delectable dumplings or warm strudel. Pair your choice of meal with the finest vino — or maybe even try the notorious grappa, a strong, grape-based, Italian brandy.
Complementing the culinary delights of Trentino are its world-famous landscapes. The huts in this Collection are framed by rugged, rocky outcrops, gentle alpine meadows and shimmering lakes. The nine magnificent Tours explore the beautiful Brenta Dolomites, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, allowing you to truly experience the high pleasure of classic alpine trekking.
The hikes vary in both length and difficulty. From easy rounds for the whole family to more challenging ascents to lofty summits, there’s a little bit of everything. During each tour you can look forward to a cosy hut visit, where you’ll be spoiled by friendly Italian hospitality and home-cooked, creative dishes.
Some starting points can be accessed by car or bus, while others are located high up at mountain stations and can be reached by cable car or gondola. If a multi-day adventure tickles your fancy, stay in one of the refuges and spend an unforgettable night in the mountains. The breakfast the next day alone is worth it.
The hike from Pradel to the Rifugio Croz dell‘Altissimo is one of the most popular in the Brenta Dolomites, and rightly so: On partly rocky paths you hike through an incredible mountain landscape with rugged peaks directly above you. At the beginning you take the gondola up to Pradel from Molveno. The starting point is at 1,350 meters and therefore you can look forward to impressive views from here.
