Between the cities of Osnabrück, Bielefeld and Paderborn lies the green heart of the East Westphalia-Lippe region – the Teutoburg Forest. With romantic villages, defiant ruins, abundant culture, numerous low mountain ranges and plenty of elevation, the region is a paradise for hikers. Here, you can combine several day Tours located around the region to make a short holiday and get to know the diversity of the Teutoburg Forest in one trip.
It’s a great feeling that we can finally get out again, even if just for a long weekend. With its themed walks, unspoilt nature and peace and quiet, the Teutoburg Forest is made for adventurous escapes, even for several days. You can either have a fixed accommodation as your base or make use of our hiking offers, such as great bus connections between the towns and cities, luggage transfers or shuttle services. There are various operators in the area who can help make your multi-day hiking holiday as comfortable as possible, even if you don’t have a car.
In this Collection, we’ve compiled the most interesting day hikes and trips for a multi-day stay in the area. Whether you are hiking as a family, a couple or alone, there is something for everyone. The hikes range in length from 6 to 20 kilometres (3.7 to 12.4 miles). At the end of each Tour, there’s also plenty of things to see and do. For example, you can jump into a bathing lake or stroll through a lively town centre.
Just pick your favourite hikes and see how you can link them into your own hiking Tour. Of course, any of these routes are also perfect as a day Tour or you can simply come back to the Teutoburg Forest for more.
