The hikes start either directly at the Genosko Inn or are within an easy bus ride from Spiegelau. Experience the wild romantic stone gorge, gaze over the treetops around Lusen mountain and marvel at the impressive moorlands in the Klosterfilz and Großer Filz nature reserves. The Bavarian Forest has very varied plantlife and plenty of wonderful hikes. You follow narrow paths and boardwalks through the mountain forest and breath in the fragrant air. Spending a few hours in the forest gives you a new boost of energy and helps you clear your head – we promise. Families with children will especially enjoy the nature adventure trail near Spiegelau with its spacious playground. Here, your little forest friends can let off steam and learn about the forest in a playful way at the interactive stations.
After a long day in the forest walking for several kilometres, the Genosko Inn welcomes you with its hospitality. A family business specialising in outdoor holidays, they offer you also the comfort you need. You will be spoiled with Bavarian cuisine in the restaurant and can put your feet up after your hikes in their cosy rooms. When you arrive in the inn, you receive a National Park Card with a GUTi-Ticket, which allows you to use the public transport for free and gives you discounts on experiences in the region. This almost ten kilometer hike takes you through a true natural gem: the Steinklamm. The Große Ohe has cut and shaped the stones of the rock gorge, which is up to 100 meters deep, over thousands of years. Moss-covered boulders provide green splashes of color in the gorge, which enchants you with its unique flora.The tour starts right at the Genosko inn in Spiegelau. Soon you will dive into the wild and romantic gorge and accompany the Große Ohe on her way downhill. Let yourself be lulled by the rushing water and enjoy this wonderful natural spectacle. It is worth starting the hike early, because then you can enjoy the idyllic nature even better and more lonely.At the Hirschthalmühle you leave the Große Ohe and turn left towards Kaltenberg. You will soon reach the banks of the Großarmschlag reservoir. Find a nice spot on the bank and take a break. You then walk back to Spiegelau on a beautiful hiking trail. At the Gasthof Genosko you can fortify yourself with regional dishes at the end of the tour.
On this twelve-kilometer hike you climb the Himmelsleiter to a fantastic panorama. Sounds tempting, doesn't it? You can enjoy the view from the 1,373 meter high Lusen, with good visibility you can even see as far as the Alpine ridge. The circular hike starts at the Fredenbrücke bus stop, the Igelbus will take you there. If you are traveling with your own car, you will also find a parking space next to the bus stop.The first third of the hike is a steep uphill climb, and finally 520 meters of altitude must be earned. You will be accompanied by a dreamlike landscape on your way up to the Lusen. You walk past the Teufelsloch, cross the Lusener Moor on an exciting boardwalk and soon you will reach the Glass Ark. The ladder to heaven begins at this work of art and takes you on a dead straight path up to the summit.According to legend, the devil himself is said to have been involved in the creation of the mountain. If so, then he did it well: The view is fantastic and the stone sea with all the flat, moss-covered stones is just magical. Time for a break in which you can thoroughly enjoy all of this. Not far from the summit is the Lusen shelter, where you can strengthen yourself.On a beautiful hiking trail it goes downhill through the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, past other rock formations and the Martinsklause. You will then reach the starting point of the hike again faster than you would like.

Ten exciting stations await you on the nature experience path near Spiegelau, which will allow you to better understand nature. The spacious forest play area, where young and old can let off steam to their heart's content, provides additional fun. The short hike is therefore perfect for a trip with the whole family.The tour starts at the Genosko inn in Spiegelau. You walk a short distance along the train tracks and then dive deeper into the forest. On the varied adventure trail, you can, for example, make music with natural materials, feel plants or feel the forest floor barefoot. If you need a break after all the fun, you can spread out the picnic blanket on the spacious, centrally located forest meadow, there is also a barbecue area.Incidentally, the Spiegelau Tourist Information Office also has a free booklet for the nature discovery trail with lots of exciting tasks.

The tour starts at the Diensthüttenstraße bus stop, the Igelbus takes you to the starting point. If you arrive by car, you will also find a parking space here.Look forward to a wonderful hike through the Bavarian Forest National Park. At the beginning you hike through old, natural mountain mixed forest with thick and tall spruce and beech trees. You cross the Große Ohe and will soon reach the Klosterfilz. You walk through the sensitive vegetation on a plank path and experience the unique moor landscape. The path leads you past the gold panning site, where the valuable metal was once washed from the sediment.The next moor is not long in coming: you cross the Große Ohe again and look over the Großer Filz nature reserve. The moist soil ensures a lush green flora in which a number of animals feel comfortable. You walk the last part of the hike along a former Trift Canal before you come back to the starting point.

On this almost 18-kilometer hike, you can breathe in the wonderful forest air and simply switch off.The tour starts at the Genosko inn in Spiegelau. At the beginning you walk through the spa park in the village and then dive deeper into the dense forest. After a good eight kilometers, a very special treat awaits you: the 1.3-kilometer Seelensteig. The path has been leading through the typical mixed spruce-fir-beech mountain forest in the Bavarian Forest National Park since 1995. No tree was separated during the development, the wooden walkways meander between the tree trunks and offer you an intense forest experience.In a nice up and down it goes on through the wonderful nature. From the Föhraufilz observation tower you can look over the green treetops. After a few hours in the forest, you will arrive back in Spiegelau completely relaxed and you can look forward to a delicious end at Gasthof Genosko.
