Both have blue and white flags, impressive nature, and are havens for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. In the tranquil town of Mauth in the heart of the Bavarian Forest, you can find a small slice of Scotland at the Scottish Highlander Guesthouse. Here, you start your day with a Scottish breakfast, spend the day exploring beautiful landscapes in the Bavarian National Park, and return to your hosts, Peter and Grit Schröder, at their small Scottish paradise in the evening. Many of the Tours start directly from the front door of the guesthouse. They take you along beautiful trails through the dense Bavarian Forest where you can enjoy fantastic views from Lusen and Siebensteinkopf mountains as well as the tranquil water. As the woods lie along the border with the Czech Republic, it’s worth crossing the state border from time to time too. Hiking Highlight
The Scottish Highlander Guesthouse in Mauth is the first Bavarian guesthouse with Scottish flair. Host Peter Schröder and his wife Grit share their love for the Scottish highlands with their guests and offer a cozy bed and breakfast in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. The guesthouse is therefore a great starting point for your hikes in the region.
The Scottish Highlander Guesthouse has ten double rooms en-suite with balcony or terrace, two family rooms en-suite and a cozy breakfast and common room. WiFi and parking are free, and every room has tea and coffee and a TV. For a surcharge you can get a Scottish breakfast to start the day off right. After a long day of hiking, you can look forward to relaxing in the sauna in the evening (also for a surcharge).
