Dringfeydd diarffordd Cymru / Wales' hidden climbs
Collection by Y Ddwy Olwyn
Mae 'na rywbeth arbennig am ddringfa diarffordd. Dringfeydd nad ydych chi'n dod ar eu traws ar hap a damwain. Mae'n rhaid i chi gynllunio'r reid yma - mynd i'w concro yn unswydd. Yn aml iawn, mae'r gwobr am wneud hynny'n werthfawr. There's something special about a hidden climb. A climb that you don't come across without planning and thinking. And more often than not, the reward for doing that is worthwhile.

According to Simon Warren, there should be a government health alert for this climb from Trefriw. It is endlessly steep - at least 14% - throughout the 3km. The nature around you is a just reward for the torture experienced. Is the Cowlyd or Bwlch y Groes the hardest in Wales?

Another of the challenging valley climbs starts at Tal y Bont. It is a steep climb for most of the 3km before a gate ends torture. After the second end gate to the yard, the gradient slows down slightly giving the opportunity to enjoy the views.

One of the best secluded climbs in Wales starting at the learners' center and climbing steeply up to the village of Llithfaen. Two very nasty bumps close to 20%, so climbing as well as sea legs will be needed for this climb.
