From Spremberg today we went in the direction of the Schwarze Pump and the Boxberg coal-fired power station. After that, the landscape is characterized by many ponds and lakes. The Upper Lusatian mountains greet you from afar.

The tour to the source of the Spree near Kottmar is part of the most scenic part of the Spree Cycle Path. After a bike rest day in Görlitz with a stroll through town and Co., today we went through the Neißeauen to Skerbersdorf. We actually wanted to get to Bad Muskau, but the small, snuggly outdoor pool in Skerbersdorf was too inviting to linger and swim.

Our bike tour went through gentle meadows today. Past Bad Muskau, with its famous park, the rose town of Forst and the very impressive Jänschwalde open-cast mine with the smoking chimneys of the power plant.
The destination today was the campsite on Lake Deulowitz - also known as the Guben bathtub.

A real highlight of today's tour was the planned socialist town of Eisenhüttenstadt. The exhibition “Utopia and Everyday Life” on the development and future of this special city is highly recommended.
