Idyllic landscapes, enchanted castles, centuries-old traditions and welcoming hosts – the Oberpfälzer Radl-Welt in Upper Palatinate in southern Germany is an awesome cycling destination. Following former railway tracks and shaded river cycle paths through challenging low mountain ranges, we take you to the most beautiful parts of the Upper Palatinate Forest in this Collection.

The main route of the Oberpfälzer Radl-Welt runs for about 310 miles (500 km) long in a figure of eight around the beautiful town of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. You can easily shorten the eight-day route to four days and ride just one loop of the figure of eight. Alternatively, you can choose one of the six two- or three-day adventures along themed trails. You can combine the routes together to create your own route depending on how much time you have.

The rides take you through the unique landscapes of the Upper Palatinate Forest. The dreamy Forest & Valleys Tour takes you through shaded woodland, the legendary Zoigl & Fish Tour introduces you to traditional fishing and beer brewing in the region, and the fantastic Legends & Stories Tour takes you on a journey back in time. The Volcanoes & Geological History Tour gives you an insight into the earth’s systems. On the Enjoyment & Culture Tour, you can look forward to culinary and cultural highlights whilst the Water Worlds Tour takes you through the vast river and lake landscapes. It’s up to you which routes you choose.

The Oberpfälzer Radl-Welt has great infrastructure for cyclists. You’ll find plenty of e-bike charging stations, clear signposting, free bike maps, and certified, cyclist-friendly accommodation that know how to make a cyclist happy when they stop off for a break or overnight stay. In this Collection, we present the main route as well as the six other adventure worlds of the Oberpfälzer Radl-Welt. You can look forward to a beautiful cycling adventure that will stay with you for many years to come.
