Die Havel ist ein Fließgewässer im Nordosten Deutschlands und mit 334 Kilometern Länge der längste rechtsseitige Nebenfluss der Elbe. Die direkte Entfernung zwischen Quelle und Mündung beträgt allerdings nur 94 Kilometer. Die Havel entspringt in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, durchfließt Brandenburg, Berlin und Sachsen-Anhalt und mündet an der Grenze zwischen Brandenburg und Sachsen-Anhalt in die Elbe. 285 Flusskilometer verlaufen in Brandenburg. Sie fließt zunächst durch zahlreiche kleine Seen in südöstlicher, dann in südlicher, westlicher und schließlich in nordwestlicher Richtung.Die hier gewanderten Etappen wurden als Tagesetappen von Berlin aus von Wanderfreund Frank Meyer geplant und alle Etappen wurden mit ihm gemeinsam gewandert.Obwohl die Havel nur eine Länge von 334 km hat, beträgt die Länge aller 16 von uns gewanderten Etappen 472,2 km. Das liegt daran, dass der Start- und Zielpunkt jeder einzelnen Etappe mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln von und nach Berlin erreichbar sein sollten.
Hin und wieder gab es eine Etappe bei der die Havel nur 1 bis 2 Mal gekreuzt oder auch gar nicht gesehen wurde. Der Verlauf unserer Wege führt aber immer so nah wie möglich parallel zum Flussverlauf. An einigen Abschnitten fließt die Havel durch Naturschutzgebiete wo keine Wege an ihr entlang führen.Insgesamt kann ich die Wanderung entlang der Havel, so wie hier gezeigt, empfehlen. Aber auch hier gibt es schöne und interessante, aber auch langweilige Wegabschnitte. Nur perfekte Wanderwege wird es wohl nie geben.

On this tour I hiked together with Frank M. the 3rd stage of Wesenberg in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to Fürstenberg (Havel) in Brandenburg of the hiking trail 'Along the Havel from the source to the mouth'.
