Exploring impressive cities surrounded by rolling hills; taking a refreshing dip in shimmering lakes; unwinding in a modern thermal bath – Upper Swabia in Southern Germany has a lot to discover by bike. A multi-day cycling Tour is the best way to get to know this region in depth. In this Collection, we present two cycle paths: the Danube-Lake Constance Route and the Upper Swabia-Allgäu Cycle Path.

The Danube-Lake Constance Route winds its way from the town of Ulm to the shores of Lake Constance in four stages. Along the 97-mile (156 km) route, you enjoy magnificent alpine panoramas and warm hospitality. From Ulm on the Danube, a town with the highest church tower in the world, you cycle steadily south. En route, you pass lots of highlights such as the town of Biberach, the Kneipp Spa in Bad Waldsee, the romantic Wolfegger Ach Valley, and the beautiful Kißlegg Castle. Each of the stages requires a fair amount of muscle power, but you find plenty of opportunities to relax on the way at a swimming lake, health resort, or soothing thermal bath.

The Upper Swabian Allgäu Cycle Path also starts in Ulm. On this 97-mile (360 km) circular route, you get to know the most beautiful areas in Upper Swabia and the Württemberg Allgäu over eight stages. The idyllic foothills of the Alps, with their quaint villages and wide meadows, are the backdrop for a picture-perfect adventure. Highlights include: the Ochsenhausen Monastery; the town of Wangen im Allgäu; the Federsee Nature Reserve; Aulendorf Castle; and the beer town of Ehingen. You can rest your tired muscles at the spas and thermal baths and traditional inns, which spoil you with regional delicacies.

Since the Danube-Lake Constance Cycle Route and the Upper Swabia-Allgaeu Cycle Route cross at three points (in Ulm, Laupheim, and Wangen in Allgäu), you can easily combine the two. At most of the stage locations, you have connections to the railroad network, so you can join or leave the tour at any time. In addition, the Danube-Lake Constance Cycle Path connects two well-known long-distance cycle routes: the Danube Cycle Route and the Lake Constance Cycle Route. So, as you can see, your cycling adventure has no limits.
