Gravel Journey Around Rwanda 2021

Starts out as the best gravel imaginable, but quickly turns into some nasty single track, before widening up again. Following the edge of the Akagera National Park, might be you chance to do some guerilla wildlife spotting.

Brand new sector, following the shore of the long and narrow Lake Muhazi. Good quality gravel and rather flat, enjoy it while it lasts!

This is a tough one. Gravel gets muddy and slippery when wet, and the elevation really starts to kick in. But you'll be rewarded with some of the most amazing views of the whole tour!

Majestic Volcanoes and smooth gravel, what more do you want? (a bit less elevation, perhaps?)

The Congo Nile Trail is without a doubt one of the best bikepacking routes of the African continent. We stick to the first couple of kilometers, followed with a gnarly climb to the main road

You'll get Tea Plantations, You'll get Rain Forest, You'll get Lake Views.Oh, and lots and lots of climbing.

Between Nyamagabe and Nyanza, the old capital of the Kingdom of Rwanda, lies an old gravel road...

For the final gravel stretch, a road of varying gravel condition, depending on the weather, near the Burundi border.
