Autumn is a beautiful season for hiking. The trees burst with colour, the mountain air is crystal clear, and the temperatures are just right – not too warm and not too cold. In the morning, the autumnal fog quickly lifts revealing the mountain landscape in its golden splendour.

In Tyrol, a historical region in the Alps, autumn brings spectacular scenery and great hiking. Many walkers come to explore the vast nature, even if they avoided hiking during the hot summer months. In this Collection, we’ve put together some wonderful autumnal hikes for you.

Stepping through rustling leaves and hiking across wonderful mountain meadows, alive with colour, you visit some special healing sights in our federal state. You hike deep into the Tiefenbachklamm gorge, along the raging Wolfsklamm gorge, up to the Issljöchl peak, and far beyond the Pfundser Tschey and Eulenwiesen mountains. For ultimate peace and relaxation, you visit three special healing places – lakes which shine even more brightly between the colourful autumn leaves. Typical Tyrolean cuisine keeps you fueled during your autumnal hikes. On Arzler, Volkzeiner, and Binsalm, you can tuck into regional delicacies.

So why not explore Tyrol this autumn and enjoy the peace and quiet in the region. Even in bad weather, the paths are easy so you can bring your whole family with you. Most of the starting points can be reached by public transport. The most beautiful hiking season of the year is waiting for you.

Such a lake always exudes a certain strength and calm. In autumn the blue of the water shines even more intensely and casts you under its spell. This is also the case at Hintersteiner See, which you will never lose sight of on this round tour.

You start at the parking lot at the Bärnstatt Chapel in Hinterstein

A varied tour with a history factor awaits you in the Halltal. The valley itself is idyllic and also a bit lonely - cars have no access here. You can enjoy your hike undisturbed, accompanied by the rugged mountains and the species-rich plant landscape of the Karwendel Alpine Park.

Owl meadows - this is not only a catchy name, but also an impressive natural spectacle. Especially in autumn, when the larches that are native to the area turn a wonderful gold. Where do you find it all? At the northern foot of the Serles. And this is how you get there:

A wonderful natural spectacle in every season - that is the Pfundser Tschey. In spring a white-purple sea of crocuses, an orchid paradise in summer and now in autumn a single yellow-gold play of fire from the larches. This tour takes you straight into the unique high valley in the Tyrolean Oberland.
